Vehicle Description FOR SALE:
$32,000.
1960 MG MGA 1600 Roadster.
Excellent condition.
Built between September 18-21, 1959 and exported to the United States for sale on September 21, 1959.
I have build documentation from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, Gaydon, Warwickshire United Kingdom, certifying the details of the factory records.
VIN GHNL 75907.
The car was originally painted Old English White with Red Trim and a Grey hood (top).
Options included painted Wire wheels, Whitewall tyres, Heater, Windscreen washers and a Grey tonneau cover.
Frame off restoration began in 2008 by the previous owner.
I purchased the car in 2009 and have continued the restoration to its present day condition.
The previous owner exchanged the MGA 1600cc engine with the more reliable and smoother running MGB 1800cc engine.
Appearance wise, you can't tell the difference.
The engine was rebuilt in 2017.
Every assembly in the running gear has been inspected and repaired or replaced at one time or another over the past 12 years.
I've tried to maintain the cars original condition as a stock restoration with only a few minor modifications.
(1) Points and Condenser replaced with Petronix Ignitor Electronic Ignition system.
(2) Cartridge oil filter converted to spin-on type.
(3) Chrome coolant overflow recovery tank installed.
Replaced the leather, vinyl and carpet in the cockpit.
Exchanged the carpet and spare tire cover in the boot.
Replaced the painted wire wheels with 60 spoke chrome wire wheels with knock offs.
(The spare is still painted silver).
Most recent repair consisted of a driver's side rear axle oil seal this past April.
Regular routine inspections and maintenance keeps the car in pristine operating condition.
This is a rust free car stored in a climate controlled garage.
Included in the sale are lots of extras, including spare parts and accessories, along with a custom fit car cover, window side curtains and a Bimini top (See photos) I believe I have provided a sufficient number of photos under the bonnet, within the boot, the cockpit and the undercarriage, at different angles and views to cover all aspects of my cars condition and features.
